“A great diet cannot make an average athlete elite, but a poor diet can make an elite athlete average.” - Dave Costill
What brings about the immune and gastrointestinal disturbances
that occur in endurance athletes? Can probiotics help improve this? This month we will look at the scientific evidence for probiotics in endurance athletes. After this seminar dietitians will understand
how to safely and appropriately recommend probiotics to
endurance athletes.
- Identify the changes that occur in the immune system and GI tract of the endurance athlete.
- Understand the mechanism behind these alterations in the immune system and GI tract.
- Discover the capacity for probiotics and how to balance these disturbances with probiotics.
- Discern how to implement recommendations for probiotics as a sports dietitian or for yourself.
After completing the webinar, you will be sent a CE certificate, and have access to handout materials and presentation slides.
This webinar is made possible by The Yakult Company, the world's pioneer in probiotics with more than 75 years of scientific research dedicated to the field. In 1930, Yakult's founder and microbiologist, Dr. Minoru Shirota, was the first person to successfully culture a probiotic strain. Today, Yakult's research is the primary foundation
of probiotic study and advanced research.
